It’s possible I own five Christmas trees. When you have that many, and put all of them up, you tend to end up with a lot of ornaments. Since our trees are mostly adorned with vacation memory ornaments, handmade ornaments and vintage ornaments my husband and I made as kids, I need a lot of ornaments to fill the trees!

One of my favorite holiday items is a snowman! Snowmen are just so cute! There are so many great snowman books as well as home decor items, it’s no wonder I decided to make these fun mason jar lid ornaments!

How to Make a Mason Jar Lid Snowman Ornament

One of my secrets to making a snowman nose for this project is to use Perler beads! Grab some boards and create some fun triangle shapes for noses out of orange beads. Place the beads on the board and melt according to the package directions. I melt both sides and try to fill in most of the holes and make the noses flat.

Directions:

  1. Add glue around the seal of the mason jar lid. This will allow the white of the lid to be the face of the snowman. Press the lid of the jar into the band and let set to dry. This easy to make Mason Jar Lid Snowman Ornament is so cute you'll want to make at least a dozen!
  2. Cut a piece of fleece 5″ x 4.5″. I use inexpensive fleece blankets that have a fun edge on them. Fold along the long (5″) edge to create a hat brim. If you do not have an edge on your fleece, you can fold it up to make a hat brim. This easy to make Mason Jar Lid Snowman Ornament is so cute you'll want to make at least a dozen!
  3. Place the fleece across 1/3 of the lid. Add E6000 glue to the ends of the fabric and wrap them around the jar lid. This easy to make Mason Jar Lid Snowman Ornament is so cute you'll want to make at least a dozen!
