Bottle Cap Chicks Easter Crafts

Teach your kids how to reuse, recycle and craft at the same time with our adorable Bottle Cap Chicks Easter Crafts.

I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to things I think I might reuse. Lids, containers, paper towel rolls, etc. My husband hates it and will usually throw them away the first chance he gets, so I never get to save any more than a handful, but I always try. Usually a month later I’ll think of a craft to make using the paper towel rolls and I can’t find them anywhere {I know it’s him 😉 } So as I was crafting this time, I had to quickly use the last of the peanut butter to get my third lid.

These little Bottle Cap Chicks are quite easy to make, you just might need to help your littles with the hot glue so they don’t burn themselves, or you can supervise them with a low temperature hot glue gun. Plus, this project will get them excited about recycling, letting them think of different things they can create using things you already have around the house.

Place a magnet on the back of these Easter Crafts to make cut refrigerator magnets, and give one to your favorite relative. Add a string to the top to hang around your home for some fun homemade Easter home decor. If you’ve saved the container, fill it with jelly beans and put the bottle cap back on! Give this as a fun Homemade Easter Gift.

  1. Wash and dry your lids.
  2. Carefully hot glue your tissue paper squares onto the top of your lid, overlapping if you can still see the lid through the paper.
  3. Cut out small diamonds from your orange card stock, fold them in half vertically, and hot glue to the center of your paper covered lids for your chick’s beak.
  4. Then glue 2 googly eyes above each beak.
  5. Cut two 4″ and two 1″ pieces off your orange pipe cleaner, wrap the 1″ pieces around the bottom of your 4″ pieces making 2 legs/feet for each chick.
  6. Twist the tops of the pipe cleaner legs together and hot glue to the back bottom of the lids.
  7. Turn your lids back to the front and you’ve got some cute Bottle Cap Chicks.
