Have you tried Ham & Onion Roll Ups? If not, I insist you do! They are low carb, Keto friendly and make a super easy light lunch or a filling snack. They are so easy to make and I love preparing a large amount at one time as they store great in the fridge. Not a fan of green onions? Pickles thinly sliced and used in place of the green onion are delicious too!
Haven’t heard of ham & onion roll ups? These were always a staple growing up at my house and often made their appearance on holidays. My mom would buy a few pounds of cheap deli ham (I prefer baked), green onions and several bricks of cream cheese. They would never last very long and we would typically refer to them as ‘Polish Roses’. I’m of Polish descent so I can only imagine they got their nickname from the people making and serving them. Whatever you like to call them they are yummy!
When my kids were little we started attending a local MOPS group where I made friends. We would take turns once a month bringing in snack and I remember my friend Amy would always bring Polish Roses but with pickles! I had never had them with pickles but I was intrigued. I tried them and even though I still prefer green onion, sliced pickles are yummy too!
Now that I follow a low carb lifestyle, I eat Ham & Onion Roll Ups at least once a week. My husband doesn’t care for them but that’s fine and more for me!
