With a few simple actions, you can be the best classroom parent this school year!

As a parent of two school-aged children, I'm always wondering how I can help my child's teacher. One thing I like to do is provide my child's teacher with classroom supplies! I find everything I need at Costco!

One of the easiest ways to help in a classroom and become the best classroom parent is to get a list from the teacher and start checking things off! But not all teachers have a list, and since school budgets are getting tighter and tighter every year, teachers must prioritize what school supplies they ask parents to purchase. The items teachers don't receive often come out of teacher's own pockets.

With a few simple actions, you can be the best classroom parent this school year!

That's why I head to Costco and grab Kleenex® Facial Tissue for my children's classrooms! And from 8/9 to 9/2 members will save $4 on the Kleenex bundle pack!*

Kleenex at Costco is "Made to Give More" with 43% more tissues per box than the 160 ct Kleenex Facial Tissue box, and you'll receive 15 Bonus Box Tops to help your child's school! With 10 boxes per bundle, I grab 2 bundles, one for each child's classroom, and bring it to the classroom within the first week of school.

With a few simple actions, you can be the best classroom parent this school year!

My child's teacher is ecstatic with these simple classroom supplies! And I feel like the best classroom parent with my donation.

With a few simple actions, you can be the best classroom parent this school year!

How to be the Best Classroom Parent

  1. Ask the teacher. It's the age-old suggestion, if you don't know, ask the teacher! Don't hesitate to ask the teacher what he or she needs for her classroom to be successful for the year. Some teachers will be hesitant but assure them you want to help!
  2. Buy classroom supplies. Head to Costco and grab school supplies you know a classroom needs, such as Kleenex Facial Tissue, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, small re-sealable bags, and individual snack packages for kids who forget their snack.
  3. Give the gift of time. Offer to volunteer in the classroom! You may be working directly with kids or you may help in the classroom with organizing books, sharpening pencils or hanging items on a bulletin board. But this time is priceless to teachers, so offer to help for a certain amount of time every week.
  4. Help within the school. If you cannot help with the teacher, there are lots of other opportunities within the school to help! There are often fundraisers and volunteer opportunities that arise several times within the school year and other areas that need you, such as the library, social worker's office or even organizing the lost and found!

No matter what you decide, you can certainly become the best classroom parent with the help of Costco!
