These Easter Cards to Make with Kids are a fun and easy project or the whole family to enjoy.

These Easter Cards to Make with Kids are a fun and easy project for the whole family to enjoy.

When I was 10, my dad bought a business. And I spent countless hours that summer helping clean and re-organize the building so that it was just the way my dad and his new business partner wanted it. I remember there was a closet and it was full of office supplies - pencils, tape, white out, etc. And china markers. I had never heard of or seen a china marker before and I fell in love with it! We had red ones and black ones and white ones in the supply closet and I convinced my dad to let me have one of each color. One feature of a china marker, or grease pencil as my husband calls it, is pulling the string and tearing the perforated paper to "sharpen" it. That was my favorite part!

Whether or not you've heard of a china marker or grease pencil, doesn't really matter. But if you have one or buy one, you can start working on easy homemade Easter cards with the kids. And if you're looking for one of these pencils, check your local hardware store, the arts and crafts section or grab them on Amazon.

Easy Easter Cards to Make With Kids

Materials:

  • 8.5" x 11" White Card Stock
  • Paper Trimmer with cutting and Scoring Blade
  • Watercolor Paints
  • Paint Brush
  • Announcement Envelopes
  • White China Marker or Grease Pencil
  • Black Marker

Directions:

  1. Cut each piece of card stock in half, so it measures 8.5" x 5.5" using the paper trimmer and cutting blade.
  2. Using the scoring blade, score the paper at 4-¼" along the long, 8.5" edge. Fold the cards in half. These Easter Cards to Make with Kids are a fun and easy project for the whole family to enjoy.
  3. Draw Easter sayings and images onto the front of your card using the white china marker. You'll want to use some pressure or go over your design a few times. You'll also want to make the images and text a little bolder so they show up when you paint over them. If you need inspiration for Easter sayings and simple designs, google "Easter Doodles" and look at the images. These Easter Cards to Make with Kids are a fun and easy project for the whole family to enjoy.
  4. Paint over your designs with watercolor paint and watch the text show the drawings and images. Let set to dry. Repeat with the desired number of cards. These Easter Cards to Make with Kids are a fun and easy project for the whole family to enjoy.
  5. Once cards are dry, use a permanent marker (if desired) to add fine details onto your cards. Write your message inside and place into an envelope. Give to a friend or family member.
