Summer is officially here and my kids are out of school. I don't know about your kids, but summer hits and all of a sudden it's an all-you-can-eat buffet and 24 hour diner at my house. I swear the moment I finish cleaning up the kitchen from breakfast, I turn around and one of them is saying, "I'm hungry!" Snacks are great as long as it's relatively healthy. I keep a basket of fruit on the counter that the kids have access to at all times. There is also a basket in the fridge with cheese sticks and yogurts that they can get too if necessary. We have full water bottles on hand for those hot days outside, too.

Another healthy snack I love having on hand is popcorn! It's super inexpensive, easy to make and the kids love it. Enter the Popcorn Ball. It's this cool new product that is perfect for making the kids healthy popcorn to munch on any time of day. It's roughly the size of a bowling ball and holds up to 15 cups of popped popcorn! It's easy to use and even the kids can use it without me supervising. My 7 year old is finally able to use the microwave without help (for basic cooking) and loves the Popcorn Ball.

Here's what you do:

  1. Open the Popcorn Ball lid.
  2. Pour ¼-1/2 C. popcorn kernels inside.
  3. Close the lid.
  4. Place in the microwave for 3-4 minutes.
  5. That's it! Easy and you don't need any added oils or butter! Of course if you want to add salt and butter, open the lid, toss some inside, close the lid and spin the ball to mix it evenly!

Don't want to use it for popcorn? You're in luck! The Popcorn Ball holds other snacks: pretzels, chips, snack mixes, crackers and more! The kids will love it!
