When my husband hit one of his milestone birthdays, his doctor suggested a health screening to ensure his body was working in tip-top shape. With a history of poor cholesterol, it was no surprise when the Lipid Profile Test showed some concern. The doctor suggested he work hard at a better diet to keep his cholesterol numbers in check.

How to Make Instant Pot Black Bean Soup

One thing that is great about making black bean soup in the instant pot is that you don’t have to soak your beans! You can literally dump them right from the package into the pot and 30 minutes later, you’ll have delicious black bean soup.

If you like more of a whole bean soup, you don’t have to puree your beans with an immersion blender. I prefer my soup a little smoother so I like to blend the beans together.

This was delicious! Only pureed part of the beans and added a dollop of sour cream to my bowl. Definitely a keeper!
