There’s one ingredient I’ve always wanted to try but have always been afraid to – lentils. What is a lentil? For simplicity sake, it tastes a bit like a bean, which is because it’s part of the legume family! Lentils are grown in a pod, but shelled like a pea and you eat the delicious seed. Lentils have a lot of protein and fiber and are generally really good for you!
Recently I was at Target and found these amazing LEAN CUISINE® Marketplace entrees. Not only are they bursting with flavor, made with organic ingredient options, gluten-free and high in protein. They pair perfectly with my black lentils and spinach side dish adding healthier benefits, more protein and no artificial preservatives. PLUS, when I purchase LEAN CUISINE® products, I can still take advantage of better options and enjoying some of my favorite comfort foods, like the LEAN CUISINE® Marketplace Vermont White Cheddar Mac & Cheese.
Once you hit Target, make sure you take advantage of the limited-time $1.99 LEAN CUISINE® products at Target (available from 1-1 to 1-31). At these low prices, you can stock up and stay on track with flavorful choices when you’re as busy as I am. These meals are great to grab-and-go for lunch when you’re running late on a Monday morning or a complete dinner when need to eat before running to an after school event.
When you pair one of these amazing LEAN CUISINE® meals with my black lentils and spinach side dish, you’re certainly going to be having a complete, flavorful meal you’ll enjoy. All of the ingredients you need for this black lentils and spinach recipe can be found at Target! So it’s literally a one-stop shop! Plus, this recipe takes less than 10 minutes to make!
